InFocus Corporation (www.infocus.com) has enhanced its base-model Mondopad, the large-format touchscreen collaboration solution, to 57 diagonal inches, adding nearly 100 square inches of interactive surface area for whiteboarding and presenting. The company also upgraded the device’s onboard PC and video calling camera, adding more value without raising the price of the Mondopad.
Mondopad is a giant five-point touchscreen display with an on-board Windows 7 PC and a suite of applications that enable users to collaborate and present with colleagues across the table and the globe. The device features an app for video conferencing, an interactive whiteboard, an annotatable browser and network connectivity.
The 57-inch 1080p HD Mondopad joins the family already featuring 70-inch and 80-inch models and replaces the 55-inch version the company debuted in 2011. The new size has an interactive image area spanning 1387.62 sq. in., seven percent larger than its predecessor.
“We value our customers and their ability to collaborate effectively so we added not only screen size but a more powerful computer and a crisper camera too; all while keeping the cost the same,” said Robert Detwiler, InFocus product manager. ”Now when you’re brainstorming on the digital whiteboard over a video call, it’ll be bigger, clearer and faster so more participants can see clearly and contribute ideas.”
In addition to the larger size, InFocus also upgraded the base model Mondopad PC to an Intel i7 that runs all Windows 7/8 applications in interactive touch mode, and adds HDMI out and Bluetooth connectivity. The camera and unidirectional microphone array that is included with Mondopad connects and is powered by a USB 3.0 port for uncompressed video transfer and a fast frame rate of 30 fps. It also provides a wide 70-degree horizontal and 56-degree vertical field of view that gives videoconference participants a clear view of everyone in the room.
The InFocus Mondopad, in each of its sizes, can be purchased through InFocus authorized resellers.
